David Ray Allen, 61, of Christiansburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore & Madeline Taylor Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Elizabeth McGuire Allen; his son, Ray Allen; step-sons, Rufus Alton Willis, Douglas Ray Willis, and Michael Todd Willis; step-daughter, Perthilda Mary Jean Willis; 16 grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Alice Miller & husband Freddie of Greenville, WV, James Allen & wife Delores of Hinton, WV, Gladys Wilson of Bedford, VA, Linda Bobbitt & husband Bob of Independence, VA, Lois Graham & husband Eddie of Forest Hill, WV, Benny Allen & wife Debbie of Peterstown, WV, Tammy Trivett & companion Pete of Bedford, VA, Stacy Lane of Hinton, WV; sisters-in-law, Mary M. Compton of Christiansburg and Josephine M. Compton of Point Pleasant, OH; plus numerous nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 3, 2012, from 6-8 pm at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at 2 pm at the North Fork Baptist Church, Blacksburg, with Rev. Fred Brugger officiating. Interment will follow in North Fork Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in David’s name to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P O Box 176, Christiansburg, VA 24068.
