Davard 'Pete' Shrader

On Tuesday, October 1, 2019 Davard 'Pete' Shrader, loving husband and father of 9 children of Ironto, VA, went home to be with the Lord. Pete was preceded in death by his daughter, Anita Hosey. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Shrader and his 9 children, Jeanna Turner of Roanoke, VA; Jackie & Jack Morrison of Wayne, WVA; Tammy Curry and friend Kenny Terrell of Newport News, VA; Nita & Les Kelly of Fairfax, VA; Liz Scholliol of South Bend, IN; Steve Huff Jr. & Michael Huff of Ironto, VA; Sam & Robin Huff of Elliston, VA; 15 grandsons, 7 granddaughters, and 20 great-grandchildren. Pete was also survived by 2 very special boys, CJ and Dusty. Paw Paw Pete was very special in many ways - his grandchildren and great-grandchildren loved him very much and he will be dearly missed.
Pete attended Elliston Church of God, where he was very fond of his pastor, Ronnie Duncan and his wife Lorae Duncan. He was also survived by his faithful friends, Pete & Lawanna Reese, Jan Sarver, and Chuck & April Pauley.
There will be a celebration of Pete's life held at Elliston Church of God on Saturday, October 5, 2019, from 4-5 p.m. for visitation and the memorial service to follow.
Pete loved to hunt and fish on his boat at the lake while spending time with his family. He loved the Lord and his wife Margaret dearly. He will be missed beyond measure but he will always be in our hearts. The family asked that no flowers be purchased, please send any donations to the Elliston Church of God, Elliston, VA.
