Darlene Bentley Abshire, 65, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 4, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Matthew & Ollie Mae East Bentley. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Jackie Abshire; her children, Karen Bentley, Kathy Trump, Destiny Abshire, and Edward Lee Abshire, Sr.; grandchildren, Misty, Edward, and Charlotte; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Roy & Nora Bentley, Shirley Dickerson, Brenda Bentley, Patsy & Charlie Stump, Ruby Harrison & husband, Fred Stone; plus many special nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was a member of New Harvest Ministries. Darlene also loved to bowl and enjoyed sports and watching westerns.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 7, 2013, from 6-8 pm at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 8th at 11 am in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Roy J. Bentley officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
