McNiel, Daphne Louise, 89, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ralph McNiel; daughter, Mary Ann Poff; sister, Marie Wimmer; and brothers, Lamer, Harless, Wesley and Winston Wimmer.
She is survived by her son, James Dan McNiel; four daughters and sons-in-law, Sue Ellen and Terry Altizer, Carol and Stan Clower, June McNiel and Frank Wallace, and Betty McNiel and Kevin Killeen; ten grandchildren, Lance Altizer (Christine), Scott Altizer (Debbie), Suzanne Altizer Baker (Tim), Rick Clower, Janine Clower Drum (Russ), Tim FisherPoff (Michelle), Jim Poff (Dao), Alana Killeen, Trevor Killeen and Danielle McNiel; nine great grandchildren; brother, Ray Wimmer (Marie June); sisters, Dorothy Meredith and Lois Epperly; and sisters-in-law, Helen Janney, LZ Wimmer and Diana Wimmer.
Graveside service will be held at Huffville Cemetery at 11a.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2010 conducted by Pastor Darren Landon. Daphne requested no flowers please. Remembrances may be made to Huffville Sunday School, 1246 Huffville Rd NE, Pilot, VA 24138 or to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.
