Dale Teel

Dale D. Teel, 83, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away early Tuesday, July 26, 2011.

Born June 19, 1928, Dale was one of the nine children of Sidney and Mae Teel.

In addition to his parents, Dale was predeceased by his son, David W. Teel; brother, Colen Teel; sisters, brothers-in-law, and sister-in-law, Opal Teel, Rheba Hamilton, Orpha and Jimmy Willard, Guy R. Duncan, Estes Gibson, and Pamela Teel.

Dale is survived by his wife of 55 years, Freda W. Teel; daughter, Sarah E. Crawford and her husband Steven R. Crawford; grandson, Dustin R. Harris; granddaughter, Paige E. Harris; friend and former son-in-law, Tony R. Harris; brother, sisters, brother-in­-law and sister-in-law, William F. (Bill) Teel, Geneva Duncan, Ruby Gibson, Wilma Jean (Winkie) and Joe McKenzie; Imogene Teel; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Even with declining health, Dale was able to continue the farming he loved with the competent, reliable help of Joe Stump and his brothers, fondly called "The Boys" by Dale and Freda. Dale cherished his grandchildren, family get-togethers, A-Model cars and being with the car club members. Being a faithful member of the Christiansburg Church of Christ for most of his life, Dale enjoyed the fellowship of his church family.

Dale's family expresses their thanks and appreciation to all those at Radford Nursing and Rehab and Good Samaritan Hospice for their care, compassion, and kindness.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2011, at the Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Christiansburg Church of Christ with Mr. Dennis Curd officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg.
