Cora Delophine Martin

CORA DELOPHINE EDWARDS MARTIN, 93, of Christiansburg passed
away on November 16, 2019. She was a member of Pilot United
Methodist Church. Cora was preceded in death by her husband Benson
‘Shorty’ Martin; parents, George Edwards & Cliffie Bishop Edwards;
brothers, Dudley, Herman, George Layton, Everette, Alva and George
Junior Edwards; sisters, Dora Edwards, Lula Slusher, Eva Link, Helen
Naff, Elsie Alderman, Nellie Edwards and Ann Webb. She is survived by
her son, Larry Martin and wife Susan; daughter, Kimberly Martin;
grandchildren, Matt Martin and wife Breanna, Chris Martin, Katy Smith
and husband Matt, Lauren Quesenberry and husband Chris, Charley
Ruch and husband Dan, Heather Finman, and Kelsey Slusser; great
grandchildren, Addison Quesenberry, Kaydence Weddel, Nick
Quesenberry, Lily Smith, Kinsley Weddel, and Noah Ruch; and many
nieces and nephews. “Granny” as she was known to her grandchildren
always had a smile, loved people and especially her family. She and
Shorty were married for over 50 years and were married on Christmas
day in 1947. She was always a bright light wherever she was including
her time at Highland Ridge Rehab. The family would like to thank the
staff at Highland Ridge Rehab for their loving care through the years
and Good Samaritan Hospice. The family will receive friends on Friday,
November 22 from noon to 1 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral
service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will
follow in Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donation should be sent
