LAWRENCE, CHARLES LEROY, age 55, of Christiansburg, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 20, 2006.
He graduated from North Carolina State University in 1973; he was employed by Ivesco, LLC, in Harrisonburg; served as Chaplain at the Montgomery County Jail; a member of Jubilee Christian Center, Radford, VA and a member of the Montgomery County Republican Party Unit Committee.
He was preceded in death by his father, James L. Lawrence. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Lawrence; his mother, Betty Lee Lawrence of Asheboro, NC; his mother-in-law, Peggy Ross Blake; his son, Steven R. Lawrence of Austin, TX; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James & Teresa Lawrence of Marston, NC, Gary & Pamela Lawrence of Southport, NC; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David & Dianne Blake of Trinity, NC, George W. & Bettie Blake of Omaha, NE.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Hash officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Jubilee Christian Church; P. O. Box 510; Pulaski, VA 24301. The Lawrence Family is being served by Horne Funeral & Cremation Service, Christiansburg, (382-2612).
