Charles Dooley

Charles (Charlie) Preston Dooley, 77, of Christiansburg and formerly of Roanoke passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Cleve and Lucy Faye Dooley; and two infant sisters. He is survived by his two daughters, Sally Foutz (Sherman) and Sandra Arnold; longtime companion, Madeline Bishop; her daughters, Rhonda (Mike) and Melissa (Darrell); seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Geraldine Hodges and Nellie Anderson (Tommy); brothers, Leroy Dooley (Ann) and Nelson Dooley (Elizabeth); and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Charlie never met a stranger, was a wonderful storyteller and will be greatly missed by all those fortunate enough to have known him.
The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at 3 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor T. Michael Bond and Pastor Dwayne Martin officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or the American Diabetes Foundation P.O. Box 11454 Alexandria, VA 22312.
