Chandler, Vashti Reed, 91 of Christiansburg died Saturday, July 24, 2004.
She was a member of The First Church of The Brethren, Pulaski, and had been a member of the VFW Post 5311-Auxiliary. The daughter to the late Crockett and Sarah Reed she was also preceded in death by her husband; Reginald F. Chandler, sister; Effie Bannick, brother; Simon Reed, and her nephew; Wendell Reed.
She is survived by her niece and her spouse; Jo Anne and George Terry of Roanoke, nephew; Freddie Bannick of Alaska, and his daughter; Jennifer Rhinhart of Alaska, inlaw; Barbara Reed of Roanoke, special friends; Julie Crouch, her daughters; Kalah Crouch both of Dublin, Candace Crouch and Amanda Crouch Finkbeiner both of Great Falls, Montana.
Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Monday, July 26, 2004 at The Horne Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday evening. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at The Pulaski First Church of The Brethren. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg.
In lieu of flowers Mrs. Chandler requested that contributions be made to, Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 176, Christiansburg, VA 24073 or to, Pulaski First Church of the Brethren, 1749 Newbern Road, Pulaski, VA 24301.
