Carrie Paige Kemp, 90, of Christiansburg, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014, at home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice Burton; husband, Charles A. Kemp; and special friend, Milton Yopp. She is survived by her daughter, Carletta Kemp of Christiansburg; son, John and Lynda Kemp of Lake Havasu City, AZ; step-children, Eddie and wife Sue Kemp of Saraland, AL, and Pat Jackson of Mobile, AL; four grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Carrie was a member of the Radford Church of Christ and worked at Scottie’s Drug Store and Smithman’s clothing store. She enjoyed spending time with family and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
The family would like to thank Interim Home Health Care for their help in caring for Mother, especially Tanya Slusser who cared for Mother as if she was her own granny. Our family will be eternally grateful.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 6, 2014, from 4-6 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 7, 2014, at 1 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Neal Turner officiating. Interment will following in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
