Brown Peery Harkrader, Jr. (“Mr. Peery”), 69, of Christiansburg, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2012.
Peery was preceded in death by his parents, Brown Peery Harkrader & Ada Chafin Harkrader; and his wife, Judith Farmer Harkrader.
He is survived by his daughters, Julia Harkrader Rose & husband Jeff, of Winchester and Catherine H. Terry & husband John of Christiansburg; his grandchildren, Erin Seeders & husband Ian, Sarah Skeith & husband Jake, Eli Terry, Emma Terry and Aaron Terry; brother, Sam Harkrader of Christiansburg; first cousins, Bobby Harkrader, Dr. J. C. Harkrader, and Paul Harkrader, Jr.
Peery owned and operated Custard Corner for over 30 years here in Christiansburg.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, from 6-8 pm at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 3rd at 11 am at Auburn Baptist Church, with Pastor Dennis Mann officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in honor of Peery to the Gospel Hour, Inc., P O Box 2024, Greenville, SC 29602.
