Beulah Neely

NEELY, BEULAH JUNE CAMPBELL, 88, Christiansburg, VA, passed away with her children by her side on August 2, 2005 at the Montgomery Regional Hospital.

She was born in Hinton, WV on June 18, 1917, the daughter of Jennings Bryan and Lottie Jane Campbell, who preceded her in death. She was married on April 19, 1933 to E. Burke Neely, who passed away in January, 1993. She was a proud, private person who loved her children unconditionally and will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren as the ?Grandma who dances around.? She retired from the Blue Ridge Overall Factory after many years of service. She attended Hinton High School and proudly earned an associate degree in Business and Industrial Supervision at New River Community College in June, 1979 after her retirement.

She was member of the Main Street Baptist Church for many years and later attended the Christiansburg Church of the Brethren. She was an active member of the Montgomery County Senior Citizens Groups and earned many medals for her participation in the Senior Olympics at both the state and national levels.

Survivors include her children, Sandra Hite and husband, Mike, Kokomo, IN; Ronald B. Neely and wife, Donna, Chester, VA; R Keith Neely, Charlotte, NC; and special family friend, Ann Crismond of Christiansburg. Grandchildren, Teresa Blackman (Jeff) Gainesville, FL; Tamra Shafer (Eric), Plymouth, IN; Tatum Neely, College Station, TX; Glen Neely, Los Angeles, CA; Katie Neely, Raleigh, NC; Brian Hite (Melissa), Kokomo, IN; Chad Hite, Indianapolis, IN; and Kristina Dutton (Steve), Kokomo, IN. Great grandchildren, Brandon Warner (Amy), Plymouth, IN; Zack Warner (Angela), Noblesville, IN; Gregg Blackman, Birmingham, AL; Cody Blackman, Birmingham, Al; Jacques Shafer, Plymouth, IN; Shelby Hite, Tipton, IN; Ruth and Zoe Dutton, Kokomo, IN; Camee and Carson Hite, Kokomo, IN. Great, great grandchildren, Christian Warner, Plymouth, IN; Kaitlyn Mack, Plymouth, IN; and Sky Warner, Noblesville, IN. Surviving siblings include Jennings Bryan Campbell, Jr., Bastian, VA; Louise Simmons, Beckley, WV; Jewell Lilly, Jumping Branch, WV and Marg Hank and husband, Bill, Hinton, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Burke; a son, Sonny Neely; sisters, Joyce Campbell, Bonnie Lilly, Barbara Thompson, brother, Jack Campbell and grandson, William Gregory Haley.

At her request, her body will be donated to science and no services will be held. She wanted to be remembered in life, not in death. Memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels.
