MARTIN, BETTY LANCASTER, age 80, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Lewis and Pearl Conner Lancaster of Floyd, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond A. Martin and three brothers, Arlon Lancaster, Marvin Lancaster and Everette Lancaster.
Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Shirley J. Martin of Christiansburg; son Ralph E. Martin of Riner and a grandson, Christopher Lewis Martin of Baghdad, Iraq and Christiansburg. A special friend and sister-in-law, Chlorine M. Clower, Christiansburg; sisters-in-law, Pauline Lawrence, Christiansburg, Rachel Lancaster, Salem, VA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Donna M. King, Christiansburg, Eloise M. and W. Wayne Gearheart, Lena and Archie McAlexander, Ocie M. and Dalton Thompson all of Pilot, Jane Earnestine M. Nichols, James Earnest and Connie Martin, Cigile Martin all of Roanoke, VA and Vernon and Sandra Martin of Little River, SC. Also, surviving numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Dec. 15th, at the Horne Funeral Home located at 1300 North Franklin Street, Christiansburg, VA from 5 until 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Monroe Hedrick officiating. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Flowers will be appreciated, however those wishing to make memorials are asked to consider Joy Ranch Children’s Home, P.O. Box 727, Hillsville, VA 24343.
