Bettie Loraine Edwards, 79, of Pilot, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013, at her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert & Zula Agnew. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, George Junior Edwards; son, David Edwards of Christiansburg; daughter, Tracie Bobletz & husband, Darryl of Fuquay-Varina, NC; brothers, William Agnew and Curtis Agnew; sisters, Ethel Harris and Mary Shular; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Bettie enjoyed meeting people and helping them with their canning while serving the community for many years at the Auburn High School cannery. She loved to travel and never knew a stranger. Bettie served the Lord while attending Pilot United Methodist Church for 50 years.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 15th in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Morris officiating. Interment will follow in St. Matthews Cemetery.
