Barry Ray Price, 73, of Shawsville, passed away on May 24, 2017. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Faye Hall Price; parents, Russell Clayton and Gladys Atkins Price; brother, Arthur G. Price, Sr.; and sister, Jackie Jo Johnston and husband Jerry.

Barry is survived by his daughters, Renee Smith and Tammy Maxey (Bo); grandchildren, Jeremy Smith, Chelsey Wooten (Brad), Casey Smith, Isaac Maxey; great-grandson, Bradley Wooten; brother, Rusty Price (Kay); sister-in-law, Nadine Price; nephews, Mike Johnston, Art Price; and longtime best friend who he considered a brother, Steve Price.

Barry served in the Army Reserves for 24 years and worked for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for 28 years as well as a volunteer for the Shawsville Rescue Squad for 17 years. He loved old muscle cars, and loved supporting East Mont High School sports. He never met a stranger and will be missed by many.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 27, 2017, from 4-7 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel, with Pastor Craig Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to thank Tracy Bradford and the nurses on the second floor of Lewis-Gale Montgomery for their care of Barry. Flowers are appreciated but donations to Harbor of Hope Church, Christiansburg in his name would also be welcomed.
