Barbara Hundley-Sowers

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Barbara Hundley-Sowers of Elliston, VA went to be with the Lord on September 23, 2019. She is preceded in death by her father, Raymond Howe, her mother, Ada Howe, brothers Raymond and David Howe, grandson John Michael Carroll, Step-grandson, Anthony Sowers, and great-grandson Gary Steven Bierman.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil Sowers, daughters, Tina Miller of Washington, DC, Cindy Graham (Paul) of Moneta, VA, Darlene Bierman of Shawsville, VA, stepsons, Cecil Sowers, Jr. (Sarah) of Giles, VA Christopher Sowers, and step-daughter, Mary Beth Sowers, sister-in-law Patricia Howe, Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Don & Carol Sowers. Grandchildren, Erik, Kyle, Joey, Melanie, Lindsey, Bradley, Audrey, Becky, Christopher, Peter, Emily, Genny, Jessica, Ashley, Andrew, Paul, Bekky, Chrissy, Desi, Donte, Hayden and Hunter. Great-grandchildren Jacob, Makayla, Chase, Nate, Cheyenne, Josh, Kalie, Mikaela, Tatum, Lily, Camden, Macie, Paige, Nevaeh, Johnny, Tyler, Joseph Jr., Mackenzie, Abigail, Tyler, Landon, Reed, Isaiah, Jacob, Caden, Madison, Isaac, Karson, Morgan, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Barbara was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. She was an avid bowler. She loved to knit and crochet, that earned her many awards at the Salem Fair, and loved her time with the “Crafty Ladies”. She had the best sense of humor, enjoyed people and having fun. She loved to travel with Cecil and spending quality time with family and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation on October 18, 2019 from 5:00-7:30 p.m. at Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg, VA. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Christiansburg, VA with Pastor Wanda Childs officiating.
