PRICE, ARTHUR GILBERT, SR., age 72, of Christiansburg, left the family that he dearly loved to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, December 30, 2005.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a retired employee of the Radford Army Ammunition Plant and was an avid golfer. Born August 7, 1933 the son of the late Russell C. and Gladys Atkins Price, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Jackie P. Johnston, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Hattie Sue Absher.
He leaves his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, that he dearly loved, Nadine Absher Price; a son and daughter-in-law, he adored, Arthur G. Price, Jr. and Donita Croy Price; three ?precious doll babies? Hattie Hope Price, Maddie Anne Price and Mary Elizabeth Price; brothers, Barry R. Price and Rusty L. Price; sister-in-law, Faye H. Price; brothers-in-law, Jerry Johnston and wife, Rachel, Harold Absher, Jr. and wife, Linda; a special sister-in-law and special brother-in-law, Wanda A. and William D. Croy; one nephew, seven nieces; several great nieces, nephews and three special young men, Ivan, Matt and Nick.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2nd at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3rd, at the Alleghany Church of Christ with Mr. Porter Riner officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to St. Jude Children?s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
