LINKOUS, ARNOLD RALPH, age 93, of Christiansburg, passed away Monday, August 29, 2005 at Montgomery Regional Hospital.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank J. and Mellie Bishop Linkous; four brothers, Frank, Jr., Kenneth, Archie and Steve; one sister Louise Helms, and his son, Arnold R. ?Sonny? Linkous, II. He was a member of the Alleghany Church of Christ and a retired employee of the Virginia Department of Highways.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of seventy years, Oveda Garnand Linkous; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy & Bob Parish of Mt. Airy, NC; Rita & Eddie Callahan of Dublin, VA; and daughter-in-law, Susan Linkous of Spring City, TN; grandchildren, Randy Parish, Waynesboro, PA; Andy Parish, Rural Hall, NC; Todd Callahan and Pam, Dublin, VA; DeAnne Callahan of Dublin; Darrell Linkous and Stephanie, Athens, TN; Farrah Linkous, Knoxville, TN; five great-grandchildren, Jake and Jaxson Callahan, Katie Parish, Drew and Dillon Linkous; special family and friends, Randolph, Christine and Tony Morrison and Dawn Camacho.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, evening, August 31, 2005 at the Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2005 at the Alleghany Church of Christ with Mr. Porter Riner officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. The Linkous Family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg, (382-2612).
