THOMAS, ANNIE B. WALTERS, age 89, of Radford went to be with her Savior and loved ones on Monday evening, October 4, 2004.
She was born in Montgomery County on September 14, 1915; a daughter of the late Jerry and Cora Early Walters and was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ira Samuel Thomas; two sons, Alfred Ira Thomas and Matthew Alvin Thomas. She leaves to cherish her memory; three daughters and a son, Rachel T. & husband Donald Lee Wood of Christiansburg, Maybelle Stump Ashworth and husband Neal Ashworth of Chatham, Marshall P. Thomas and wife, Sandra of Christiansburg, Korene "Karen" Thompson and husband R. J. of Floyd; one brother, Theodore R. Walters of Lancaster, PA; eleven grandchildren, Jo, Lytton, Rodney Wood, Susan Flinchum, Tommy Stump, Carol Motley, Al Thomas, Kristi Elliott, Tammy Crewshaw, M. T. Thomas, Vikki Richardson and Jeff Thompson; ten great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, friends, and caregivers of Wheatland Radford and Montgomery Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 7, 2004 at Horne Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, October 6 at the Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg.
