Amanda Taylor

August 16, 1957 — August 30, 2004

TAYLOR, AMANDA ELLEN HERTY, 47 of Christiansburg, VA went home to our Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, August 30, 2004 at her home following a long illness.

Being the daughter of Lt. Col. Frank and Diane Herty, her youth was spent traveling. As an adult, she moved to the family's hometown of Columbia, SC and raised her four children. Amanda graduated from the University of South Carolina. An avid artist and nature lover she settled in Christiansburg with her husband Richard Lindsey Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Diane Farr Herty. She is survived by her husband, Lindsey Taylor of Christiansburg, VA; her daughter, Angela Jones and husband, Christopher of Houston, TX; sons, James Moore and wife, Christina of Clarksville, TN, Robert Browne Jr. of Columbia, SC; Charles Patrick Browne of Christiansburg, VA; stepdaughters, Nola Redd and her husband, Micheal of Atlanta, GA; Danielle Keel and her husband Matthew of Raleigh, NC; father and step-mother, Frank and Janet Herty of Columbia, SC; Mother-in-law, Mary S. Taylor of Salem, VA; brother, Frank Herty III of Hilton Head, SC; sisters, Mary Hall and Diane McCoy and husband, Walter, all of Columbia, SC; and Elizabeth Chapman and husband, Ellis of Kettering, OH; one grandchild and two step grandchildren.

The memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening, September 2, at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 355 Independence Blvd; Christiansburg. There will be no visitation.
