Bishop, Allen Willis, age 78, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, John B. Bishop and Mary K. Willis; his wife, Mary Bishop; brothers and sisters, Esma Basham, Elsie Gould, John Bishop, David Bishop and Carl Bishop.
He is survived by his stepsons, Donald Harvey and wife, Judy, of Chicago, IL, and Ronald Harvey, of San Diego, CA; special nieces, nephews and friends; special grandchildren; and his beloved dogs, Sassy and Angel.
He served his country in the United States Navy and retired from General Motors with over 30 years of service. He was an active member of the Blue Ridge Model A Club and also an active member of The New River Valley Amateur Radio Club.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 22, 2009 from 1p.m.-2p.m. at the Horne Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Hylton officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to The American heart Association, The American Diabetes Association or the Humane Society of Montgomery County.
