Alfred Gallimore

GALLIMORE, ALFRED CALVIN, age 75, of Blacksburg, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, September 1, 2005 after a long courageous battle with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Payton and Maudie Gallimore, a brother, Edsel Gallimore, and his loving companion, Ruby Dowdy.

He leaves to cherish his memory a brother and sister-in-law, Cappy Ray & Marivic Gallimore; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Elvie & George Jones, Dorcas Kent, Ruby Gallimore, Joyce Pascoe, Julie & Don Crewey, Olaf Gallimore, June & Bill Chrisman, Linda Fudala, Janet & Paul Webb; special and loving caregivers, June Gallimore and her daughter, Deborah Gallimore; special friend and caregiver, Brian Mitchell; Dr. Harry McCoy and nurses; Carilion New River Valley Hospice; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2005 at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2005 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Woolwine and Dr. Carolyn Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Beaver Creek Cemetery, Floyd County.
