Glenn Allen Branscom

Glenn Allen Branscom, age 84, died on October 31, 2017, at his home Glennlyn Farms in the Catawba alley after an extended illness. He and his family are grateful for the support of the Carilion Hospice which allowed him to die at home.

Glenn was the son of John and Lucy Venable of Fort Madison, Iowa. He was a 1955 graduate of Iowa State University. He spent his entire career of 38 years as an Electrical Engineer at General Electric. After retirement in 1992, he enthusiastically turned to raising Black Angus cattle. Glenn was an avid outdoorsman and hunted around the world in pursuit of his passion.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn Cannaday Uzzell Branscom; sons, John of Salem and Paul of Roanoke; granddaughter, Megan Paris; great-grandson, Jude Robert Paris of Salem; brother, Don (Sandra) of Fort Meyers, Florida; sister, Judy Branscom Butcher of Tucson, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

Glenn will be buried in the Cannaday family plot in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg, Virginia. There will be no services.
