Christian Gabriel Colwell

Gone too soon, Christian Gabriel Colwell of Christiansburg left his earthly body behind on Saturday, October 7, 2017. Although his days were few, they were filled with laughter, love, and a quest to make every day “epic”. Quick to love and a stubborn refusal to give up on anyone, he touched more people than he will ever know. Our beautiful gift from God – we will miss you and will see you again.

To carry on his legacy of love are two beautiful and perfect children, Elijah Gabriel Colwell and Ember Willow Colwell. Remaining behind to teach them this legacy are his parents, Gregory and Amy Colwell-Schlake; brothers, Jeremiah Colwell and Joshua Schlake; his grandparents, “Papa” Rob and “Mama” Mary Alice Colwell, Rosilyn Gillette, and Bill Woods. Precious to him were his aunts, Emily Colwell and Katie Schlake; uncle, Nathan Colwell and wife Shana; sister-in-law, Tabby Colwell; numerous cousins; best friend, Cory Nichols; and too many others to name.

A Celebration of Christian’s Life will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Don Baldwin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Service. Anyone who knew Christian is invited to bring pictures and stories to share. A private reception for family and close friends will be held after at the family’s home.
