Barry Wayne Worth

August 31, 1955 — April 25, 2017

Barry Wayne Worth, 61, of Christiansburg, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Franklin and Hilda Staton Worth; brother, David Andrew Worth; mother and father-in-law, Madeline and Aaron Johnson.

Barry is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Connie Johnson Worth; daughter, Kristin and son-in-law Roger Stump; and his pride and joy his grandson, Hunter Lee Stump. He is also survived by siblings, Sue Graham and Jeffrey Worth; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-laws; as well as nieces and nephews.

Barry worked for 20 years at Radford Arsenal in the Water Department. He worked at the Montgomery County School Board and was a member of the taxpayer association and a member of the Republican Party. Barry also served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at Faith Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed writing poetry for his loving wife and family.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 28, 2017, from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Faith Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Mike Vest and Pastor Kenneth Wells officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
